Cross Sound Cable
The Cross Sound Cable (CSC) is a 39km, 330MW High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) submarine transmission system linking the electricity grids of New England and New York in the USA. The transmission system is an essential component of the capacity constrained New York and New England electricity markets and operates under US federal regulatory regime. The entire 330MW of transmission capacity of the cable is under a long term contract to Long Island Power Authority (LIPA).
